    1. It was actually hard for me to watch that video, having grown up in a home with domestic violence in it...the quote that children would rather be hit than see their mother's being beaten really got to me. I worked with a woman whose 4 year old daughter saw her boyfriend throw a huge knife across the room and it landed in her back/shoulder area. He was in prison for 3 years for it, and when he was getting out the mother became an addict and I could not find her to help her. I often wonder what happened to her little adorable daughter, Samantha.

    2. My apologies for the difficulty of the video. I wanted something that didn't paint a vague or pretty picture but one with truth to it. I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Being in an abusive relationship is so hard and more times than not, women turn to drugs and alcohol to cope. I've heard from some ladies that having an addiction was the only area of their life they could control. What a double edged sword! I hope and pray that Samantha is cared for and is growing up loved and that when she is older is able to understand what happened and what domestic violence can do to a person. Thank you for your comments and support.

  2. These statistics are really devestating. Everyone likes to put up the happy home front image but as these statistics show that image may merely be an illusion. I am wondering if these statistics are much higher now with all the economic factors and people being more stressed at the work place, than in times of prosperity. America becomes more and more scarry each day!

    1. It sure does! Some of the reports I see show statistics that are in agreement that the troubled economy can exacerbate an abusive relationship. Our continued awareness and support to end domestic and sexual violence is a much needed focus both individually and collectedly as a society. It affects us all whether we are directly involved or not. Thanks for your comment.
